Firsts...

Apologies for the late update on Thanksgiving but here it has now arrived. It was a typical Hanlon Thanksgiving; high volumes, laughter, huge feast, and lots of oooing and awwing of the baby. I think I held Aidan for a total of 5 minutes that whole day and it may sound odd but I actually kinda missed the little fella. The funny thing was that he was mostly held by the men in the family - he and my Uncle Mark were best buds. It was great though because he needs as many positive male influences as possible. At one point I referred to the TV room as the "Gentlemen's Club" to which Aidan had become a member of as soon as he entered the house. Of course the ladies got some quality time with him but I was most impressed with the men in the family but not surprised.

I was very thankful to spend the time with family this Thanksgiving though I actually mentioned to my sister that it should be "Thanks to Liz" day since she has done so much for Aidan and me. She is amazing with him and to him. Liz wakes up early to pick him up and watch him for the day and 3 days out of the week she has to work at nights, so it's like she's Aidan's second mom. I am impressed by her energy and the love that she shows Aidan even though she's tired - it's not easy to care for a baby. She introduces him to new people so that he can become accustomed to all types of personalities and cultures. Liz is just an amazing aunt. My sister has been so helpful during this period of my life and I'm not sure what I would do without her here in Massachusetts. Her boyfriend Adrien has also been gracious enough to late us use his car when we need to take Aidan to the doctor or when I was going into labor. Although everyday should be "Thanks to Liz" day I'm going to make November 27 the official day. I am very fortunate to have such amazing family and friends.

Now onto Aidan's first day of snow - nothing grandiose but it was his first snow and I took pictures. We went for a walk around Salem that day, which I could tell that he loved since he passed out within the 5 minutes of the walk. He did wake up for the last 5 minutes though. The cold didn't seem to bother him or should I say his face because I bundled him up in regular clothes plus his bunting to ensure warmth. I can't wait for more snow!
Aidan's first snow!!! I love him.

Until next time.

Too cute! I love the pics of his and the boys. Wasn't it just yesterday that he was born?? He's already looking like a little gentleman!!
